Saud A. Jafar MA Chairman, AC-Kuwait Board of Trustees

Mr. Jafar has been with AC-Kuwait since its inception in the early 2000s and was officially appointed Chair of the AC-Kuwait Board of Trustees in 2010. He has extensive experience in both higher education teaching and administration and held the senior management position of Deputy Director General – Finance & Administration at the Public Authority for Applied Education & Training for over a decade. He also has considerable experience living abroad, as he was a senior member of the Kuwait Embassy Cultural Office in London, UK for 5 years and spent 2 years in Denver, USA as a graduate student. He holds an MA in Economics from the University of Denver and a BA in Economics from Kuwait University.

 

Dr. Amani Ahmad Hajj Hasan, Vice President, Academic Affairs

Dr. Amani Ahmad Hajji Hasan holds a Doctoral of Business Administration from Swiss Business School (SBS). She also holds a Master of Business Administration (with distinction) from Kuwait Maastricht Business School (KMBS) and a second Master of Applied Business Research from Swiss Business School (SBS) in addition to having a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from Liverpool John Moores University, UK.

Amani is a Certified Trainer in Human Development and is a member in the Kuwaiti Pharmaceutical Society. She is an entrepreneur, owning two successful businesses in the local market. She has published an article derived from her MBA thesis. The article can be found on the following link.

Duaij AL-Otaibi, Admin Assistant / Academic Affairs

Duaij Al-Otaibi graduated from Algonquin College with a Diploma in Accounting. After graduating, Duaij entered Algonquin College part-time in March 2022. Three months later, he switched to full-time. He started as a secretary but is now an Admin Assistant / Academic Affairs.

Rana Khan, Academic Coordinator, Intensive English Program, and Business Management & Entrepreneurship

Rana Khan is a doctoral candidate in Education at the University of Bath, UK and holds a master’s degree in English Literature and Business Administration, besides a certificate in CELTA and IELTS (TTT). Rana has extensive experience in teaching and curriculum design. She is a frequent presenter and keynote speaker at international conferences. She served as Secretary, and Conference Chair to TESOL Kuwait, in 2017. Additionally, she has hosted two consecutive international conventions in Denver (2020), and in Houston (2021), as Chair, Conferences Professional Council, TESOL International Association, one of the world’s largest English teachers’ associations.

Rana took the initiative of establishing TEFL Kuwait, the first IATEFL Associate in Kuwait and is currently serving as President, TEFL Kuwait. Rana is the Academic Coordinator to the Intensive English Program and Business Management & Entrepreneurship at Algonquin College. She believes in lifelong learning and has several research papers to her credit which can be accessed from this link.

 

 

Mohammad Sarram, Business Accounting, Academic Coordinator

Mohammad Sarram is a Ph.D. candidate, who holds a master’s degree in accounting from Kansas State University, a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the American University of the Middle East, and a diploma in Financial Risk Management from Oxford College.

Mohammad is a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP). He worked with Kansas airport authority, General Atomics and Kansas State University on a synthetic large Unmanned Aircraft Systems training center in Salina, United States. Before joining Algonquin College in 2021, he worked for Kuwait General Aviation in the Auditing & Internal Control Department in 2018.

Mohammad’s areas of expertise are Financial Accounting, Financial Statement Auditing & Analysis, Risk Management and Project Management. His research fields of interest are Accountability and Sustainability, Artificial Intelligence in Auditing and Accounting Scandals & Hedge Fund Activism, and Management.

Dr. Seyed Ghasem Saatchi, Computer Programming, Academic Coordinator

Dr. Sayed Saatchi holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Dalhousie University Canada, a master’s degree in Computer Science from Dalhousie University, and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Trinity College & University in the U.S. He is certified & specialized in Java, C, C++, HTML, PHP, CSS, Python, Microsoft (MCSE, MCSD, MCP, Network+, Security+, A+, Azure Fundamentals, Power BI, Modern Desktop Admin, Enterprise Admin Expert, MS Office Specialist, Artificial Intelligence (AI)), Cisco (CCNA), Database (MySQL, SQL, Oracle) Certified in (CEH Certified in Ethical Hackers, CND– Certified Network Defender, CISSP – Certified Information System Security Professional, CISM – Certified Information Security Manager).

Sayed’s research areas of interest are (Investigations into computer network collision detections and Disaster Recovery for Datacenter with the latest technology), he is working on publishing an article on the Application of loT technology and Artificial Intelligence in Wireless Collision Detection for HRC Systems.

He is currently working as CP instructor & coordinator at Algonquin College and has 21 years of experience in the government & private Sectors including KDIPA as IT Consultant, KNETCO as IT Manager, Dar Al Shifa Hospital as System Administrator, GUST University as CP Instructor and TDI as CP Instructor.

Huda Abu Mousa, Business Accounting

Middlesex University London awarded Saud Alali a Master of Science in Strategic Marketing. As part of her bachelor’s degree at Gulf University for Science & Technology, she majored in mass communication.

Besides being certified in how to be an influencer on social media, she also has a passion for the business world both locally and internationally. She created several marketing campaigns that went viral in the Middle East. It is evident from her strong will to learn, teach, and grow that she has a dynamic personality. Additionally, she is a member of the NUKS Student Council in Kuwait National Union 2009-2011.

As part of her research, she examined the negative impacts of digital marketing strategies.

 

Tareef Attar, Advanced Technology

Tareef Attar has 32 years of experience in IT and IT Security/Compliance. He holds a B.Sc. Degree in Computer Science with a Minor of Applied Physics and Digital Electronics. He is interested in instructional techniques and learning technologies. He gained his CISSP and CISA in 2004. He has been an MCT since 1997. Tareef is currently building a framework for customizing IT Security Awareness Training (ISAT) that is more effective than current existing one-size-fits-all solutions. He is also passionate about environmental issues, agriculture, and areas such as “greening the desert” and water conservation.

 

Ali Al-Hamad, Business Management, and Entrepreneurship

Ali Al-Hamad is an impassioned entrepreneur, an overview of Ali’s career illustrates an enviable record of success across a variety of pursuits. Graduating from the University of Utah (Management) and GUST (MBA), ongoing learning has been a core pillar of Ali’s life. Ali is also a University of Oxford certified Blockchain Strategist, a certified Bitcoin professional, and a Blockchain expert, certified by the Blockchain Council.

Ali founded and run over a dozen businesses ranging from the Real Estate business in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, to an ice-cream factory in Kuwait that exports to more than eight countries globally. The businesses differ, but Ali’s ability to drive strong growth has been a core feature of all pursuits. Most recently, Ali has established himself as a leading authority in the cryptocurrency field.

 

Hassan Abulrahim, Business Management and Entrepreneurship

Hassan has an extensive experience as a financial & management consultant and as an instructor and trainer. He worked for various financial institutions in Kuwait as a financial analyst as well as at a senior and executive management levels. Hassan is an expert specialized in value added tax (VAT) for which he published a number of researches and articles in the Kuwaiti newspapers in light of his experience as a VAT practitioner and his knowledge of the tax systems in the UK and other EU countries. He provided several VAT-related consultation services to companies operating in different sectors in Saudi Arabia. Hassan was an ex-instructor of Finance with Maastricht School of Management and currently, he is a teacher of Economics & Accounting with The Canadian Algonquin College in Kuwait.

Hassan holds an MBA (Finance) from Leicester University (UK) as well as a Taxation Certificate from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).

Anoosha Shalwani, Business Law

Anoosha Shalwani, graduated from University of London having Masters of law Degree and has joined Canadian College of Kuwait as a Lecturer for Business Law in 2019.

Anoosha brings with her extensive experience of working at prestigious law firms and financial institutions. She also has a teaching background, both in the form of classroom teaching and one-on-one tutoring. The combination of both corporate and teaching experience gives Anoosha an edge as she’ll be able to relate the theoretical concepts with real-world practical examples and ensure that the students truly understand the subject matter vs. just go through the curriculum. Anoosha also believes in lifelong learning and hopes to instill that desire in her students.

Ms. Anfal AlRubaian, Business Management and Entrepreneurship

Anfal Alrubaian holds a MSc in (Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Technology) from Strathclyde University in Glasgow, Anfal is passionate about Teaching and has a great interest in social Entrepreneurship activities, in which she worked in many charitable projects with NGOs in Kuwait and overseas.

Dr. Omar Jaber Aburumman

Dr. Omar Jaber Aburumman is a senior instructor in Algonquin College of Kuwait. Aburumman obtained his bachelor’s degree (Accounting) from Al-Balqa Applied University/ Jordan in 2014, and a master’s degree (Human Resource Management) from Al-Balqa Applied University/ Jordan in 2016. He obtained also his Ph.D. degree (Human Resource Management) from Universiti Malaysia Terengganu/ Malaysia in 2020. Dr. Aburumman was work as a postdoctoral position in Institute of Tropical Biodiversity and Sustainable Development/Universiti Malaysia Terengganu. Dr. Aburumman has many articles published using quantitative and qualitative methods in the field of human resource management, career development, and organizational behavior.

Mr. Mubarak Kamal

Mubarak holds DipH in Arabic Literature from Kuwait University and a Diploma in Positive Psychology from the University of California, Berkeley. As a certified coach and judge for QatarDebate Center, he has coached multiple teams from different educational institutions. The work of Mubarak encompassed a wide range of interests, including Literary Criticism, Cognitive Psychology, Philosophy, Critical Thinking, and Socioeconomics. He founded numerous book clubs in Kuwait and cultural events covering these topics. His place of interest is to develop students intellectually in a way that can be used in their daily lives as a useful tool.

Ms. Aya Mohamad

Ms. Aya Mohamed holds a master’s degree in Library and Information Science, and a bachelor’s degree in English Language and Literature with a minor in Translation from Kuwait University. She also holds an International Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (CELTA), which aids her in delivering successful, engaging and student-centered classes based on interactive teaching.

Ms. Aya is an experienced, passionate English teacher with 8 years of service in the academic setting. She worked as a full-time English Instructor at the International University of Kuwait (IUK) from 1-9- 2021 till 31-8-2022.

She has joined CCK in the fall semester of this year (2022-2023) as a part-time instructor and works currently as a full-time senior instructor.

Mr. Mohammad Sanhat

Mr. Mohamed Sanhat is a PhD Candidate in Essex University. He has a MsC degree in Accounting and Finance from Salford University in UK (The dissertation was about the gap between education and practice in the accounting field). Furthermore, he has a PGCE qualification from Bolton University. In addition, he has a bachelor degree in Accounting and Finance from the American University of Kuwait. Mohamed worked in different locations around the world and has a mix of industry and teaching experience.

Ms. Ghadeer Alfadhli

Ghadeer Alfadhli holds a bachelor’s degree in English Education from Gulf University for Science and Technology. She has an experience of 6 years of teaching through different stages. She is passionate about motivating others and believes that all students are capable of learning, and hope to make a difference in their lives.

Mr. Sulaiman Abouabdah, Computer Programming

Mr. Sulaiman holds a MSc. in Advanced Computer Science from Cardiff University, Wales, UK and a bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Gulf University for Science and Technology. He has successfully completed the IBM Workforce Development Program in Web, Mobile, Cloud and AI Development. Before joining Algonquin College in 2023, He worked in KDIPA as a web developer where it focused on developing their websites using Flask and MongoDB. Before that, he worked in PIFSS as a native mobile developer. Finally, he worked with CODED as an intern TA instructor for “How to start your tech startup” bootcamp. He is currently working as CP instructor at Algonquin College. He is passionate about various topics that goes under data science. He is also passionate about environmental issues and volunteering abroad with Sahabat Amal volunteering group.

Saud Al-Ali Saud Al-Ali, Business Marketing

Middlesex University London awarded Saud Alali a Master of Science in Strategic Marketing. As part of his research, he examined the negative impacts of digital marketing strategies. e majored in Mass Communication as part of his bachelor’s degree at Gulf University for Science & Technology.

Recently, he successfully led the Skilled Entrepreneur Program in cooperation with the Youth Public Authority.

Ms. Nour Alhathal

Nour Al-Hathal holds a Bachelor’s in English Language and Literature, with a minor in Translation from Kuwait University and a master’s degree in English Language and Literature from The University of Liverpool.

Besides being an avid literary researcher, Nour has amassed over 8 years of teaching experience for many reputable organizations and has taught different levels across the spectrum. Winning multiple awards during her career, Nour has recently won for co- presenting a scientific poster During Ktech’s SMEs conference.

Operating as Treasurer for TEFL Kuwait (an IATEFL associate) this past year, Nour currently holds the position of Sponsorship Chair for the organization and has managed to successfully aid in organizing TEFL Kuwait’s first Multidisciplinary Hybrid conference.

She has joined CCK as a Senior Instructor for the Intensive English Program, and as such, took the initiative to establish a Foundation Reading Group on campus. She is passionate about her students most of all and believes in fostering a positive and supportive learning environment, where failures become the stepping stones to success.
